So Xiu Xiu, the kings of self parody have released a follow up to Dear God I Hate Myself and it no surprise that it delves deeper in to that terrifying sound that the band do best, and it’s a tragic album, so bad. You just have to accept that with every Xiu Xiu album there are gonna be bad songs on it, but with “Always” unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. There are a couple of truly amazing highlights but overall this album is atrocious. I admire them for being consistent but this album doesn’t cut it. I love Xiu Xiu so much, but their albums are just either good or bad and this is one of their worser records.
