Coming out of this movie I thought it was the biggest load of bullshit ever. Yeah, It did look amazing and stunning, I’ll give it that, but that’s all it had going for it. The more I think about the movie though, the more I think about how brilliant it really was. I might just want to like it because of how gorgeous everything looked though. It made me want to live in New York more than anything. Not a whole lot happens, Carey Mulligan looks all cutesy and sings and Fassbender fucks some girls. He goes jogging for a few minutes, too. Wow. I might be not giving it the credit it deserves, there some interesting moments and lots of underlaying themes but there’s so much pointless bullshit; we don’t need to watch Fassbender take a piss or watch him run for five minutes (even if it is filmed magnificently.) I will watch this again eventually, I might feel differently when I do, but yeah, very pretentious and artsy with not much going on. Fassbender was as good as always though.
