    Wow, it actually happened. The Shins finally announced a new album. Such a pleasant surprise since I grew up with their music. The thing is, I think too much time has gone by that I don’t actually care anymore. My taste has developed so much since Mercer’s been gone. I still love all three of their albums deeply and every single B-side I spent so much time trying to look for back then, but now it just seems like too little too late, you know. I I don’t even look at the band as the Shins anymore now as Mercer changed the whole line-up basically firing the band years ago. I just see it as James Mercer’s music project, which, yes, that’s what it’s always been, but back in the day it was these four guys, this band that I knew everything about, since Mercer’s ego trips that I haven’t felt the same way. I am intrigued as to what this album will sound like though as it has been 5 years let’s not forget. I bet the album’s only like a half hour long, too. The album cover is beautiful though!!!
